WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW IF WE WANNA HAVE A FASHIONABLE AND HEALTHY CHILD

Sweet Spring/Summer Baby Shoes

The first summer that your baby needs to wear cute little shoes is very special, and shopping for great baby shoes is sure to be one of your spring highlights. It can, however, be difficult to know what to buy – especially if it’s your first baby.
Take a look at this handy guide on what to buy and when, to make sure that your baby’s feet are covered, cute, comfortable and properly supported when they need to be.

Newborn

If it’s your baby’s first summer season, and he or she is still tiny, then there’s no need to worry about forking out for footwear just yet. You might, however, want to pick up some simple cotton baby pop ons to protect baby’s delicate skin from the sun. Available in classic baby colours white, blue and pink, at just £2 a pair from ASDA, it’s no big deal if you lose one – and you will – and have to replace them.
Crawling

Little crawlers need a soft shoe that won’t restrict their movements across the carpet/grass/beach. Soft, fabric sandals are a good choice, and the pink Baby Bow Trim Sandals are the perfect choice for girls.
If you have a little boy, the Baby Boat Shoes in bright blue and navy (£4) are a smart option, and will look perfect with cute little nautical outfits for your little sailor boy.
Alternatively, you can’t go wrong with simple soft pumps, and you’ll find them in blue with a dog design and pink with a cat design at ASDA for just £4 a pair.

Toddling

If your little one has started to pull herself up, and is likely to be taking those first wobbly steps by spring, then the advice is to leave feet uncovered as much as possible to help baby find her balance. This is perfectly possible when indoors, but becomes more problematic once out and about.
With soft soled shoes, you can let your baby toddle about unhindered at playgroups and the like with their little feet comfortable and covered. However, if outdoors are the park or elsewhere, you’ll need to keep baby safe by investing in a pair of properly fitted hard-soled shoes.
Walking

Those with babies who aren’t so little anymore will find that baby is likely to do much more walking in summer. While it’s tempting to snuggle down in the buggy through winter, when the sun’s out it makes running around far more appealing.
Take your baby to a reputable store with a shoe fitting service to ensure correct fit. Once you know your baby’s size you are free to buy shoes from anywhere, but be sure to do a six point fit check with the shoes on your baby’s feet. When purchasing from George at ASDA you’ll have peace of mind from the 100 Day Satisfaction Guarantee, which means that you can return any shoes that aren’t quite right for a full refund.

Keep your baby’s feet covered, comfy and looking cute this spring/summer season with great baby shoes from ASDA.
