I’m back, as promised, with episode 2 of one of the most serene and relaxing getaways I have ever experienced: Nirvana Lagoon Villas Suites & Spa.

If you’ve seen and read the first episode, you know by now that I’m not using big words for nothing. This week charged me with energy and drive for months to come. Below are some more of the snaps we took during our stay at one of the most beautiful and luxurious resorts in Antalya. 

And as if this heaven on earth weren’t enough, here the universe made me more aware of one important life lesson. 

I was going through the dishes at lunch one day, my mind was wandering off for the thousandth time at healthy eating, but my hands were reaching for well, basically everything fried, I was all dressed in white, accessorized with white espadrilles and a white hat (I know that I already told you about my white obsession, so I won’t mention it again ) when…

all of a sudden, a middle aged lady who looked absolutely boring steps on my foot. On my WHITE ESPADRILLES, to be more exact. She looks at me with annoyance in her  eyes, does not say anything. No ‘I’m sorry’, no ‘You idiot, why did you put your foot under mine’ haha, nada. Just looks at me with angry eyes and leaves. I remain hurt, one of my espadrilles (which I cannot machine wash by the way, haven’t figure out how to wash them to be more precise, hence the care and drama)  is totally ruined. Covered in sand and mud. 

Oh, so this is not the flamenco class?

With my soul hurting, (the drama) I grab a shrimp and a salad and return to my table. Of course that for 3 minutes I cursed the hell out of the situation, explaining how completely rude and without manners this lady behaved. I had already declared her a peasant,  rude, blunt, graceless, impolite, stupidly clumsy and the ‘compliments’ kept on coming. 

Four hours later I am in the lobby of the hotel’s resort, waiting for a driver to come and take me to the old center of Antalya to find some cashmere scarves for all my lady friends. I was sipping champagne, scrolling on my phone (have I told you that I destroyed my finger because of that? Remind me to make a ‘Don’t do it’ post on the matter) when I see this lady approaching me. 

I was preparing to pour my champagne glass on her head thinking that she will come and shout at me. Cause yeah, forgot to tell you, when she stepped on my foot I gave her the meanest look in the universe. Instead, she gives me an apple and says hurriedly and in the most perfect English (did I also tell you that I said mean things about her nationality? which was not English):

I stepped on your foot earlier at lunch, please forgive me and receive this apple as my gift. I’m so sorry! Please forgive me!

She goes away leaving me feeling extremely ashamed of my poor judgement and with tears in my eyes. In that moment I understood once again that labeling people is something that might be in our instinct, put there by our demented society, but we are the ones who should think twice before judging as soon as we meet them and slamming on a label. 

Maybe she didn’t say anything when she stepped on my foot because I gave her the killer eye? Or she was ashamed? Why did I have to call her names? Why didn’t I think of this before labeling her?

I left Nirvana Lagoon Villas Suits and Spa not only with my batteries charged and with wonderful memories, but with one precious reminder: It’s all about perspective and a more positive one is always the best solution. After all, we are the generation who is planning to change the world, right?
